Discover the ultimate 3-day excursion into the Sahara Desert in Tunisia, exploring the spectacular Grand Erg Oriental, one of the world’s largest seas of golden sand. Discover UNESCO World Heritage sites, authentic Berber culture and breathtaking oases, and enjoy an unforgettable night in the heart of the Tunisian Sahara. Day 1: El Jem • Matmata • Desert camp Dunes Insolites After an early morning pick-up from your hotel in Tunis, Hammamet, Sousse or Monastir, head south to the magnificent amphitheatre at El Jem, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the best-preserved Roman arenas in the world. Continue on to Matmata, famous for its underground Berber cave dwellings and as a filming location for Star Wars. Visit a traditional cave dwelling before having lunch at a local restaurant. Arrive at the Dunes Insolites desert camp, situated on the edge of the Grand Erg Oriental. Settle into your private Bedouin tent and enjoy optional activities such as a camel ride, quad biking, a 4x4 desert safari or sandboarding. Marvel at the spectacular Sahara sunset whilst sipping traditional mint tea, discover the ancient tradition of baking mella (sand bread), savour a delicious Tunisian dinner, enjoy some folk entertainment and spend the night under the stars. Day 2: trek in the Grand Erg Oriental and nomadic camp After breakfast and lunch at the camp, venture into the heart of the magnificent Grand Erg Oriental with experienced local guides. Cross golden dunes stretching as far as the eye can see on camelback, on foot or by 4x4 to reach a secluded nomadic camp. Marvel at the sunset in absolute silence, help set up camp and enjoy a traditional dinner cooked over a wood fire. Spend an unforgettable evening around the campfire before sleeping in a nomadic tent or directly beneath the spectacular Saharan sky. Day 3: Chott el-Jérid • Chebika • Tamerza • Kairouan Wake up to a magical sunrise and enjoy breakfast in the desert before returning to camp for a shower. Cross the vast Chott el-Jérid, North Africa’s largest salt lake, then explore the mountain oases of Chebika and Tamerza, famous for their waterfalls, palm groves, spectacular canyons and abandoned Berber villages. After lunch, visit Kairouan, one of Islam’s holiest cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before returning to Tunis, Hammamet, Sousse or Monastir.

2-Day Sahara Tour
Hallo zusammen, ich möchte mich zunächst bedanken für diese wundervollen zwei Tage. Wir wurden ganz typisch nach tunesischer Art fast pünktlich abgeholt und wurden ganz herzlich empfangen, bevor es losging. Auf dem Weg wurden wir mit ausreichend Pausen an Sehenswürdigkeiten vorbeigefahren und haben durch den Guide viel über Tunesien im ganzen erfahren. Beim Highlight, der Sahara hatten wir wirklich luxuriöse Zelte mit Klimaanlage und Bad, wobei da nur kaltes Wasser verfügbar war. AdOns wie die Quadtour und das Kamelreiten waren super, das Snowboardfahren war recht amüsant. Vor Ort gab es dann ein großes Dinner mit verschiedenen Shows. Nach dem Sonnenaufgang am nächsten Tag ging es dann weiter über die Salzseen, die große Moschee und auch hier gab es wieder ein Lunch(was leider etwas billig war und nicht dem Standart der restlichen Reise entsprach) bis wir dann abends wieder nach Hause gebracht wurden. Vielen Dank für die zwei Tage, würden wir im Nachhinein wieder so buchen. Daaaanke!

L'endroit est en plein désert ; il suffit de sortir de la tente pour se retrouver au milieu des dunes du Sahara. Nous sommes arrivés sans problème avec notre voiture de location, une petite voiture. Le personnel est très attentionné et serviable. Le prix comprend non seulement les repas et l'hébergement, mais aussi de petites expériences comme un spectacle musical avec de la musique en direct autour du feu, un thé sur les dunes pour admirer le coucher du soleil et une démonstration de préparation de pain berbère traditionnel. Il est également possible de réserver, moyennant un supplément, d'autres activités, comme des promenades en quad ou à dos de dromadaire dans le désert.
