Sahara light
Enjoy the desert's best light without turning the entire evening into a photo shoot.
Dunes Insolites highlights sunsets and photography in the dunes. The most useful advice is logistical: be settled and ready before the planned time, because reaching a viewpoint as the sun disappears leaves no margin.
Low light reveals dune shapes and marks in the sand. A simple composition, level horizon and a few minutes without a camera often create better memories than constantly racing between dunes.
Colour does not vanish immediately after sunset. Watch the twilight, then allow your eyes to adapt before observing stars. Keep bright screens away from the group and do not use flash near animals or other travellers.
With a phone, stabilise it and avoid digital zoom. With a camera, bring a charged battery, protect equipment from sand and minimise lens changes when the wind rises.
Ask before photographing staff, guides, performers or other guests. A cultural evening is not a studio; some moments are better experienced without a screen or intrusive lighting.
Timing and visibility depend on season and weather. Ask for the recommended arrival time on your booking date and accept that cloud or wind may change the selected viewpoint.
