Choose your night
Two ways to sleep in the desert, with very different levels of comfort and immersion.
Dunes Insolites is a fixed camp in Sabria. Its public information mentions fitted tents, toilets, hot showers, electricity and a team on site. This is often the simpler choice for a first desert night, a family or anyone who wants practical facilities nearby.
A camp night still includes the essential moments: dune light, dinner, fire, the night sky and waking in the desert. Exact comfort depends on the category booked, so check the accommodation listing rather than relying on a general description.
The official bivouac starts from the camp with a guide, then combines travel through the dunes, a temporary camp, a meal and an overnight stay. It prioritises quiet and remoteness, with naturally lighter infrastructure than the fixed camp.
Do not choose from a photograph alone. Ask how you travel, which equipment is supplied, what toilet arrangements exist, whether food and drinks are included and what alternative is planned if weather requires a change.
Choose the camp if a shower, nearby toilets, a defined room or straightforward road access matter most. Choose the bivouac if you accept fewer facilities in exchange for more guided time away from the established camp.
Before confirmation, mention children, mobility, allergies, medication, electricity needs and sensitivity to heat or cold. The team can then recommend a suitable format instead of confirming an option that does not fit.
